Our pets have been sick or pet dander! Because of moths or crawling insects! Our move out cleaning or end of tenancy clean requires it! it's been a long time and we need to get it restored! We are selling the house!, We have friends or family coming around! Annual carpet cleaning! The list is endless so consider and book your cleaning in.

Is it worth getting carpets professionally cleaned?

100%, not just for the cleaning appearance but also the quality of air should be considered, lets talk about that later. Having your carpets cleaned annual will extend the life span of your carpet and prevent the carpet fibres from splitting and deteriorating. Also moths, bedbugs and other small insects can make a home in the carpets, so carpet cleaning will aid the elimination of them, and their eggs. Carpet Cleaning will eliminate trapped dirty and dust pollutants and allergens in the carpet fibres which can cause respiratory problems, it will also lift your moral and enhance the appearance which is always nice when you welcome guests.

How often should you clean your carpets?

It is recommended and best to have your carpets cleaned at least once per year. This will ensure your carpet is maintained and the dirt, foot traffic, stains, dust and allergens that build up in the carpets will be kept under control. Also take into consideration when deciding how frequently to get your carpet cleaning done consider: How much foot traffic does the carpet receive? Do your family members have allergies? Are there smokers in the property? Do you wear shoes in the house? Are there children in the house? Do you have pets? If you answered yes to any of these reasons, you may want to increase how often you carpet clean your home.

Which carpet cleaning method is the best?

The best method for carpet cleaning is steam cleaning. The other carpet cleaning methods are: Very Low Moisture Cleaning, Encapsulation Cleaning, Dry Compound Carpet Cleaning, Bonnet Cleaning. These methods will all be featured in future blogs. But lets take the steam cleaning a step further, agitation and deep brushing followed by steam cleaning, will remove dirt and bacteria from your carpet and sanitise and strengthen the carpet pile and provide you with the best carpet cleaning results.

What is the easiest way to deep clean a carpet?

Hire a professional Carpet Cleaner. The D.I.Y methods are really not the way to go as drying, stain removal, hire costs then labour will leave you with sub par results and can cause other issues including bacteria, patches and pile reversal. Our process will include a good hoover, a great pre-spray, some carpet spotting and carpet stain removal, some carpet agitation with a mechanical brush followed by some hot water extraction with high heat and the carpets will come up fresh and like new. It's always great giving customer the best carpet cleaning results.

What do professional carpet cleaners use to clean carpets?

A professional Carpet Cleaner will use either a truckmount (van mounted machine) or a portable extraction machine, both will connect to a hose and a wand. Most professionals will vacuum the carpets first, they will then treat stains and spots, a pre spray is also advantageous for the stain removal and traffic areas with a dwell time. Pet stain removal may require a sub surface tool called a water claw to extract pet stains from lower in the carpets, a mechanical agitation machine may be used to breakdown soiling and heavy traffic and stains, they will then steam clean your carpets with a cleaning rinse. If required they may use carpet dryers to aid the circulation and help the carpet dry faster. A portable carpet cleaner may need access to water to fill his machine.

How much does cleaning carpets cost?

Carpet Cleaning Prices can cost from £20 to £65 for a double bedroom, the cost of 2 bedrooms can be from £40 to £90, the variant is usually due to location or targeting area marketing. A typical 2 bedroom house can cost from £80 to £150. A set of stairs can cost from £2-3 pound per stairs so £30 to £60. A truckmount contractor can have a minimum callout of £100. For a more accurate price for your carpet cleaning needs, it's recommended to ask for a free estimate from a professional carpet cleaning company or look up our price list on our booking form click link: https://www.mmlcarpetcleaning.co.uk/prices#book

Is it better to clean carpet with hot or cold water?

Hot water is more effective in the carpet cleaning process. It will clean through dirt easier, and will break through mould, destroy moths and eggs, bed bugs and other crawling insects and give better cleaning results and dry faster. Hot water extraction will do a better job cleaning than cold.

How long do you have to stay off carpet after cleaning?

Opinions vary but most carpet cleaners will provide you with feet protectors so you can walk on the carpet straight away, be very careful with feet protectors when walking down the stairs and ensure you put most of your feet on the step as sliding can happen after a carpet clean. Ideally keep pets off the carpet for 3 hours after cleaning and wait until the carpet is dry to put back furniture.

Can I hire a machine and do it myself?

Yes you can of course, however there are things to consider and pitfalls to think about. Consider and please be aware of: constant filling and emptying the machine, over wetting the carpets can cause a damp and musty unavoidable smell, poor cleaning results, not enough stain removing products, no plan B, time! it takes a lot of time, poor carpet agitation, no constant heat, harsh chemicals, how much solution do you need to buy for your whole house? will the stair tool reach up all the stairs? no crevice tool for along the skirting. There are way to many to list them all but you get the jist. My recommendation is to find out how much it all costs to rent, then find out how much it costs to hire a professional carpet cleaning company and make your selection based on getting the best quality cleaning and value, besides we don't want you to hire a machine and then have to hire a professional to correct any issues as it's just unfair to pay twice for one job. Please do a cost comparison, you will be surprised hiring a professional carpet cleaning company isn't as expensive as you think. The results are better, they are fully equipped, they have a plan B for stubborn stains. Also pet stain treatment and sub surface extraction maybe required. A D.I.Y carpet clean will definitely cause more trouble than good for pet stains and deep cleaning traffic lanes. Also a professional carpet cleaner will come with pet friendly and child safe pre-sprays and rinses so they can tackle carpet restoration, heavy soiling, pet dander, blood oil, gum and paint if required. It's not as easy as you think but please select a professional or let us know how your D.I.Y went.

What can I expect with my professional carpet cleaning?

A great, friendly, reliable, carpet cleaning experience. A deep clean to bring your carpet back to life. Much cleaner carpets. The results will exceed your expectations, and some hints and tips to maintain your carpets until your next clean.

Is the carpet cleaner insured?

We have public liability insurance and all technicians are CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) Police checked. Being CHAS accredited we carry out and document a health and safety assessment through a risk assessments and method statements for our property visits. Our technicians and risk obstacles are thought out to ensure property safety and provide peace of mind that accidents are less likely to happen with our carpet clean.

Does the Carpet Cleaner Move Furniture?

Within reason yes, please note however when booking a carpet cleaning services furniture moving is not mandatory it is done as a booking request. The liability if your wardrobe collapses or your bed leg is unstable is not fair on the carpet cleaner and insurances wont pay out for it. So what can I expect you may ask? well, within reason the carpet cleaner can move furniture like bedside units, chairs, sofas with wheels, small table and chairs etc... your configured TV on the stand and the Sky Service will not be uninstalled and re-installed unfortunately. Wall units, mounted to wall cabinets, full wardrobes, pianos are not moved in the carpet cleaning. A fully assembled wood frame bed (without wheels is not moved as standard) divans are ok. Please ask your carpet cleaner in advanced also as different companies will handle things differently. From our perspective it's never a no it's just sometimes unrealistic and the carpet cleaner may have to clean round some furniture.
